What the Report Covers

Tagoras Association Learning+Technology 2014Association Learning + Technology 2014 continues our work in two prior reports (one published in 2009, the other in 2011) to assess the use of technology to enable and enhance learning in the association market and provide insight into how the use of technology for learning may evolve in the coming years.

At the heart of the report is a sector-wide survey conducted earlier this fall. Out of 200 responses to the survey, 88.7 percent were from individuals who indicated their organizations currently offer technology-enabled or technology-enhanced learning. We asked these respondents a range of questions about their technology usage, including:

  • What types of technology-enabled or technology-enhanced learning are they offering (e.g., Webinars, online courses, blended learning)
  • Are they trying any of the trendier new options like MOOCs, digital badges, flipped classrooms, or gamification?
  • To what extent have they embraced social media and mobile computing as part of their educational programming?
  • Are they using a learning management system or other type of dedicated learning technology platform?
  • Are they video streaming their conferences or offering virtual conferences?
  • How satisfied overall are they with their efforts to offer technology enhanced or enabled learning?
  • How successful have they been, in terms of revenue generation, participation levels, and other factors.

Those are just some of the key areas we covers. Naturally, we also provide insight into how the answers vary according to size and type of organization and other demographic filters.
