In the coming weeks I’ll be participating in a couple of free online events that focus on topics we cover regularly here on the Tagoras blog. I thought these might be of interest to readers.
The first, hosted by BlueSky Broadcast, takes place this Friday, October 12, at 1:00 ET. In it, I will discuss key points from my recent book 10 Ways to Be a Better Learner. Here’s the description:
Are you ready to thrive in the global learning economy? Are your members and customers? Traditional schooling has not prepared most of us to handle the massive flow of information and the continual need for upgrading our knowledge and skills that today’s world demands. In this session, lifelong learning expert Jeff Cobb will draw on his recent book, 10 Ways to Be a Better Learner, to highlight practical strategies for helping you and your members/customers become more capable and effective lifelong learners.
On Thursday, October 18 at 1:00 ET, as part of CommPartner’s “Wit and Wisdom” Webinar series, I’ll facilitate a panel discussing the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s (NHPCO) recent virtual conference. Virtual conferences and events are, of course, something we have done quite a bit of research on here at Tagoras (check out our Virtual Events Resource Center) and they are also a key business model I highlight in Leading the Learning Revolution. Here’s an excerpt from the Webinar description:
This summer, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) engaged more than 5,000 hospice volunteers from all 50 states in their 2012 Volunteer Leadership Virtual Conference. Hear how they did it—from the initial thought process and planning, to the instructional design and structure of the event. You’ll also hear how they promoted the event and how they measured success and return on investment.
I hope to “see” you at one or both of these.
Jeff
