Fee vs. Free: Pricing Educational Products and Services

ASAE logoPricing education offerings is a topic of special interest to us, so we wanted to let you know about ASAE’s free upcoming Professional Development Virtual Lunch this Friday, June 22, from noon to 1 pm Eastern. “Fee vs. Free: Pricing Educational Products and Services” (http://www.asaecenter.org/Education/EventDetail.cfm?ItemNumber=180303) will be co-facilitated by three association executives from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives:

  • Crystal Moore, vice president of professional development and convention
  • John Carlson, director of professional development
  • Audrey Imhoff, director of information services

They’ll touch on key pricing topics:

  • How do you determine what your market will bear for educational programs?
  • What formula do you use to determine fees?
  • How do you price programs for members vs. non members?

There’ll also be time for you to join in the discussion and exchange ideas on pricing strategy and revenue generation.

Registering for the Virtual Lunch

The virtual lunch is just two days away, so reserve your spot today at http://www.asaecenter.org/Education/EventDetail.cfm?ItemNumber=180303. Remember, other than the cost of the long-distance call, it’s free to ASAE members and non-members alike.

Hope to hear you there Friday!

For More on Pricing Education Offerings

If pricing is of particular interest to you (or a particular pain point), I suggest another free resource: Jeff’s “Pricing Online Learning” available on the Tagoras Resources page at http://www.tagoras.com/resources/#marketing. The PDF article discusses the fundamental principles of pricing as they apply to sales of e-learning products and services. You may also want to have a look at the inform/perform distinction as an approach to Webinar pricing.
