Interview with Ellen Behrens – Association eLearning

by Jeff Cobb on July 8, 2009

In June, Ellen Behrens, author of the aLearning blog, released a new book on association e-learning strategy call aLearning: A Trail Guide to Association eLearning.

Up until recently, Ellen was the director of education at the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS), where she implemented a very successful e-learning initiative. She also has a long history as an instructional designer and developer in the world of corporate e-learning. In short, she knows what she is talking about – and she is a good writer to boot!

Ellen has left NACUFS and is out touring the country with her husband in an RV, but I was able to catch up with her by Skype in the Dakotas to discuss her book and her perspective on e-learning in the association sector. The interview runs just over 30 minutes and in it we cover topics ranging from what makes association e-learning initiatives successful – or not – to the potential role of social media in e-learning.

Just imagine yourself somewhere in the Black Hills of the South Dakota late on a sunny afternoon and kick back to listen. (If you don’t see the audio player, click through to the post.)
